About The Summer Institute
The Summer Institute is open to Texas A&M System members, partners, and agencies. The 2016 Summer Institute is the 8th since 2009 and this year’s topic builds on prior CEI events. One is the 2015 Winter Institute sponsored by the General Dynamics EDGE Innovation Network and CEI member center, Internet2 Technology Evaluation Center, which focused on telecommunications for a marine event, connecting US Coast Guard assets on the water with responders and agencies on shore in Galveston and Disaster City. The second is the deployment of the CEI member center, Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue, to assist with the Syrian boat refugees arriving in Greece.
The Summer Institutes are limited in size to 35 participants, so space fills up quickly and priority is given to TAMU students.
